Tremolo bridges are usually set up as 'floating' which means that if you push or pull on the tremolo bar you are able to change the pitch of the note or chord that you are playing. For most guitarists this is not much of a problem and this tends to be the preferred bridge type. The main negative for this type of bridge is that you don't have the flexibility to change the pitch of a chord easily as you do with a Tremolo.
